Message from the Vice Dean
The Office of Scientific Affairs (OSA) at School of Medicine, SUNY Stony Brook facilitates the performance and the continued expansion of the biomedical research enterprise of University Hospital & Medical Center. Through the targeting of emerging opportunities in extramural funding sources to areas of research interest and expertise on campus, the OSA seeks to optimize the success of its faculty in basic, translational, and clinical research, as well as in biotechnology and new technology/drug development. The OSA works in close cooperation with the Office of the Vice-President for Research to provide a strong research infrastructure, populated with state-of-art core facilities, assistance in identification and development of intellectual property, and assistance in complex regulatory / compliance issues integral to biomedical research. The singular goal of the OSA is to assist the research faculty in their development of robust research programs in all aspects of biomedical research.
